Negroni

This Cocktail of the Week is one of our favorites but it is definitely not for everyone. The intensely bitter flavor of Campari makes it truly unique but also can be too much for some. It is not a complex cocktail to make but is very complex on taste. Although dominated by the Campari flavor, it is very important to select the right gin to construct the perfect Negroni recipe. If you are looking for a recommendation, check out this great gin review by Napaman.com's Jim White. We stayed true to our Vermont roots and tried the relatively new Copper's gin from Vermont Spirits. Copper's gin is an American-style gin distilled from wild Vermont juniper berries and we think it fared well in this cocktail.

  • 1.5oz Gin
  • 1.5oz Campari
  • 1.5oz Sweet Vermouth
  • Orange peel

Add gin, Campari, and sweet vermouth to a mixing glass and stir with a bar spoon. Pour over ice in a double old fashioned glass and garnish with an orange peel.
